FAQ 76: Error 102...status 161 starting ASC


Trying to get into the software we're getting the following error:

"Error=102:Msg=Cannot get Library;Cannot open file: Catalog:Cannot open file: Name-R:\ASCAPP\NDM\ASCCAT.DAT:Status=161"

I tried rebooting the server-no difference.


The license is usually causing this error. Try the following:

Go Start, Programs, Pervasive or Actian, Utilities, License Administrator. If the License Type is Temporary with an expiration date enter the License key and click authorize. If the License Type changes to Active then the status 161 should be gone.

If the State of the license shows disabled, enter the key and click repair. The the license remains disabled then contact ASC support.
