FAQ 430: Create a new plan using an existing plan, not the pattern plan

Problem:

How do I create a new plan from an existing plan?


Solution:

A new plan can only be created from a pattern plan. But, after creating a new plan, you can copy in the Plan Specifications (and employees if desired) from an existing plan.

To use an existing plan's Plan Specifications, create the new plan as you always do, then copy the existing plan into this new plan by selecting File>Copy Plan and Quick Copy. You can then make any changes necessary to the "new" plan, including Plan Name, Employee Data, etc.
