FAQ 1085: Script Execution Error 29: Error on XFCREATE/OPEN command = XFCREATE at line #...

Problem:

We are running into this error when we attempt to execute a script:

"Script Execution Error 29: Error on XFCREATE/OPEN command = XFCREATE at line #..."

Do you know what might be causing the error?

Solution:

On that line of the script the system is attempting to create an Excel file. If you are seeing an error when it gets to that line, my guess is that it is because your workstation cannot create an Excel file for some reason. That could be that Excel is not installed in such a way that your workstation can create Excel files, or possibly you do not have rights to the directory where the file is being created. Another possible cause of an error on that line could be a bad file name if someone changed the file name in the User Data file for some reason. I would suggest making sure that the file name for the file in the User Data file is valid, that the workstation can write to the directory noted above, and maybe look into re-installing Excel on that workstation if that is a possibility.
