FAQ 350: EMPLOYEE--Sorting employees when their names are in Last, First order

Problem: All the employees in one of my plans are listed as such: Adams, Mary How do I sort them so that they properly sort in alpha order?

Solution: Choose the "Name" sorting option and the system should sort the employees based on the first letter that it finds. Secondly, make sure that the employees are being displayed in Sorted Order within the EMPLOYEE application by choosing Options-Order of Presentation and confirming that the Employee Order is set to "Sorted". If it is set to something like the Sequential order, sorting the employees will have no effect on how they are displayed when you choose View-Find Existing or display the employees in a grid.
