FAQ 655: Import--XFFormItemNames has too many item names

Problem:

I keep getting this error when I am trying to import data into ASC. Do you know what the problem is?

Solution:

I see a couple of other entries of this error in our database. One was because there were hundreds of blank data lines and/or columns in the data file. This can happen in Excel when the spreadsheet has "hidden" characters in the cells which indicate to that program that there is data, even though the user cannot see it. The easiest fix for that is to copy and paste only the cells that you see data in to a new, blank spreadsheet.
The other entry relates to the vif table having blanks - which is probably related to the "blank" space in the data file.
So - try the first one. If that doesn't work, email us your data file and the VIF file and we will take a look at it.
