FAQ 794: Can Reporter default to the \ASC\REPORTS directory?

Problem:

Each time that I print from Reporter, I need to change to the \ASC\REPORTS directory to get to the standard reports, as I do not have any files in the default \ASC\USER directory. Can the default directory be changed to the \ASC\REPORTS directory?

Solution:

Yes. If you add the following line to the [ASC] section of the ASC.INI file, the default directory will change to \ASC\REPORTS:

UserReportsDirectory=REPORTS

If you make this change to the ASC.INI file in the \ASC directory, the change will be system-wide and will affect all workstations. If you want to make this change on just certain workstations, then you should add that line to the ASC.INI file in the \WINDOWS directory on the applicable workstations only.
