FAQ 132: 410b--How to run a controlled group multiple plan 410b coverage test

Problem: I have two plans that are part of the same controlled group. How do I go about testing the coverage for them without aggregating them into a single plan?

Solution: You can bring two or more plans together for coverage by using ASC's "Multiple Plan" option in the Reports/Compliance/410b setup screen. Check the "Multiple Plans" box in the upper-left corner, then bring in the second plan. Finally, answer the questions related to whether they participate in multiple plans and which eligibility to use. The "primary plan" is considered the plan in which you are residing when you select to bring in other plans. This plan's eligibility is what will be used across all the plans in the group for 410b purposes.
