FAQ 185: Budget--Message saying that ownership does not equal 100%

Problem: When running a budget routine the attached plan gives us an error stating that ownership percentages do not equal 100%. Can you determine what is wrong with it?

Solution: When running the budget routine, make sure that you input the proper "Income share pct" and "Expense pct" percentages for all principals, in addition to the standard "Onwership %" in the Employee Record. Although the ownership percentage across all three partners equals 100%, the income percent only totals to 65.69%, and the expense percent only totals to 66.66%. Once you change those percentages to equal 100% as well, that message should go away.
