FAQ 238: Budget--Does it recognize and calculate the gateway and the top-heavy minimum?

Problem: I have a top-heavy plan with a tiered allocation. Will the budget routine give the gateway and the top-heavy minimum to the right participants?

Solution: Yes. The budget will cover the top-heavy minimum for those coded to receive it on the Top Heavy Minimum (TOPHMINM) screen. It will also cover the gateway for those coded in the Budget setup screen as eligible (status code and hours) in the Minimum Allocation Gateway Test box. The gateway will be covered for those in Groups 2-A.
