FAQ 327: 410b--Six employees being excluded due to hours

Problem: "I ran a match test that is excluding 6 participants due to hours. They all have less than 500 but none of the six are terminated nor have they ever had a termination date. There are a number of other participants with less than 500 hours and not terminated but they are not being excluded. Can you tell me why the system is excluding these six?

Solution: The 410b test not only looks at status code and hours, but also at dates. Their dates of birth and/or hire are either blank or incorrect, and the system is not sure which category in which to classify them. Run the data checks utility to check their dates, or check the six on their employee record DATES screen.
