FAQ 338: 401a4--Include terms in 401(a)(4) General Test?

Problem: Should my current year terminees be included on my General Test - Accrual Rates with 0%? The plan has a 1000 hour and last day requirement.

Solution: In a 401k plan, status HMN should be in the ABPT test portion. Status HMN may be excluded from the ABT test (rate group test) if they do not receive a contribution. There is an option on the a4 setup screen to handle this.
