FAQ 363: ADP--Option to use prior year percentages is disabled

Problem: I am trying to run an ADP test using the prior year method and the prior year non-HCE ADP percentage option is grayed out in the ADP/ACP test form. I did enter the prior year non-HCE ADP percentage on the ADP Test screen in the specs. What am I doing wrong?

Solution: This option is disabled if the system believes it is the first plan year. It determines that based on the "Plan Effective", "Plan Year Begin", and "Valuation Date" fields on the Plan Identification (ID) screen in the plan specs. My guess is that your Plan Effective date is in the current plan year. Correct your Plan Effective date and the prior year options should then be enabled.
