FAQ 641: ADP--One person does not have ATM on straight 10% match

Problem: I cannot understand the ATM calculation. I have a failed ADP test, 3 people getting returns, 2 are getting ATM, and 1 has zero ATM. I realize that those with catch-up may not have any ATM, but none of these three have catch-up. What am I missing?

Solution: The source 3 matching formula is coded as 10% up to 10% of employee contributions. Since the employee in question is deferring 34.99%, the system thinks that her ADP returns were unmatched. Change your formula to 10% up to 100% of employee contributions and it should calculate an ATM for her as well.
