FAQ 2187: Loan Account vs. Loan Fund

Problem: Loan balances setup in Loan Account screen upon takeover. There is some discussion that we should set up a Fund called Loan 1. I tried to import the data from the recordkeeper directly into the Loan screen but was not successful it needs to go to a Loan Fund

Solution: The problem is the Loan Account is where all the loan details are - if you are administering the loan. If you don't care about all of the details and only the balances are a concern, you can import to the Loan fund and clear the Loan Account data. To clear the loan account data, go to the main ASC menu-Utilities-Change Structure-Clear fund/loan values - be careful only to clear the specific fund, loan, and source and field items.
