FAQ 2217: Standard Source Order and Reordering
Problem: What is the source order I should have for an SSPLite plan? How can we put the sources in the proper order?
Solution: To determine the current source order, use a VXF to export Plan Listing to show the source descriptions per source field per plan. This can be requested from the ASC Support. To reorder sources in ASCVAL Utilities-Change Structure: Use the “Delete or Reorganize Funds and Sources” utility. This utility allows you to reorganize the source order for your plan. To change the order: Double-click each source from the Current Source Order to add it to the New Source Order. If you mis-select, you can double-click a source in the New Source Order to remove it and select again. This gives you control to set the specific order you need for SSPLite or any other plan type. Only sources 4-20 can be deleted (and only if they hold no data), but you can reorganize any sources regardless of their data contents. During the reorganization process, ASC will automatically create a backup of your plan in case you need to restore it. The backup files are located at \ASC\BACKUP\FUND\Dxx\Dxxpppp-nnn. A standard source order for SSPLite wizards is as follows: 1-Deferral 2-Employer 3-Match 4-Roth 5-Employer Safe Harbor 6-Rollover 7-Safe Harbor Match 8-After-Tax 9-QNEC 10-QMAC 11-Unrelated Rollover 12-PLESA 13-ER Roth
