FAQ 230: Calculations--Match--Are transactions required to calculate match?

Problem:

I want ASC to calculate a matching contribution, however in the manual it says that the system will calculate the matching amount only if the salary is a transaction. I input the salary directly to the Compensation screen in the employee records, How do I process them as transactions as a group so that I don't have to process each one individually?

Solution:

If you have the matching formula in your matching source specs and the Force Contribution field is set to "No-Use Valuation Calcs", you should be able to just run Calculations-Valuation and ASC will calculate the match without using transactions. Matching contributions are more frequently calculated through transactions when you do periodic matching calcs (i.e. for each payroll).
