FAQ 867: Disbursement Wizard - $10,000 statutory minimum

Problem: We just started using the disbursement wizard for loans and distributions this week and found that when the loan available amount is displayed, 90% of the account balance is shown (for a vested balance less than $10,000), rather than 50%. Is there a setting in the plan (or globally) that will force the wizard to display only 50% available? Thank you!

Solution: While most of our clients prefer to follow the statutory minimum in the loan regulations, many others prefer to simply allow 50% regardless of the minimum. The new Disbursement Wizard now accomplishes this through a configuration settings file. To display the 50% value add the following statement in x:\ASC\ASC.INI under the section [ASC]: UseMinStatutoryLoanAmount=N Re-invoke the Disbursement wizard and you should see the change.
