FAQ 309: Joining and unjoining a Profile

Problem: If a participant elects to un-join a profile on the Investment Profiles menu, does the system force them to join a new profile? If not, what happens to their investment elections? Also, is it possible to force a participant to join and rebalance if they are switching portfolios instead of being able to only join the new portfolio for future contributions?

Solution: They are not forced/required to make new elections by the system, but a warning message immediately appears when they unjoin that they must make new elections or select a new profile. The default options are to 'join' but not rebalance, and to 'join and rebalance'.
