FAQ 296: Patch file process 2nd and 4th Mondays

Problem: I've done the update as requested. However, I do have a question about the regular system patch file. When are patch files posted and should I expect notification when one is due?

Solution: We provide the patch file on our website every 2nd and 4th Monday unless there have been no fixes to the system during the time gap or we are in a programming lockdown which happens twice a year ahead of our full releases. We do not send out an email about this unless there is some major problem that has been fixed. You can tell if the system patch file has been updated by the date that lists. Each patch file is cumulative, so if you miss a patch file you still get all the fixes from the previous week. There is a Readme file, also available for download, that tells what fixes have been made so you can see if they apply to your situation. The patch file is located under our CSC, login and go to Updates and Downloads tab, then select ASC System Patch Files and check the boxes for the files to download, Complete the identification details to the right, then scroll down and click on download files. Install the patch file follow the instructions in the Readme file.
