Solution: Once the new form is released by the IRS, users will need to use the current form. For a plan year of less than 12 months (short plan year, insert the short plan year beginning and ending dates on the line provided at the top of the form. For purposes of this form, the short plan year ends on the date of the change in accounting period or on the complete distribution of the plan's assets.
